Ice Fishing Is Bucket Loads Of Fun!
Ice Fishing – “Bucket” loads of fun!
This week’s fishing tip is about, guess what? You got it, ice fishing!
When heading to any body of water for a day of ice fishing, always check ice conditions with the Ministry of Natural Resources, local ice fishing hut rental people, local fishing tackle shops, bait shops, and/or local fishing clubs. Safety first!
To make a day of ice fishing comfortable and safe you must be ready for anything, and that takes planning. The first thing is to carry your fishing equipment and fishing tackle, in a convenient and waterproof way.
So, the first item you need is a five gallon plastic bucket with a lid (I will talk about customized lids in later articles. We might even have some for sale!.). Make sure the bucket has a handle to make it easy to carry if you have to. The bucket will give you a place to store and protect your fishing tackle, equipment, bait and hopefully fish!! With the lid on it makes a seat for the day of jigging, and hooking fish.
You can bring along a small pillow for extra comfort or pick one up at your fishing tackle shop, or fishing tackle retailer. There are some different types available, some with a unique stuffing that actually heats up when you sit on it, squeeze it, etc., These are great!
