Spring and Early Summer Walleye Magnet
Most walleye fisherman know that fish will feed in the shallows in springtime because the water near shore obviously is warmer then the water in the main body of the lake. Northern Ontario lakes hold the same rules, so listen up.
There are a few important thing that you must keep in mind when your out spring fishing or in early summer fishing for walleyes.
During this time (may long weekend always comes to mind) the shores are always a little warmer. The temperature of the water might only be by a degree or two, however this small temperature difference always brings in baitfish which ultimately brings in the walley frenzie.
So once your on the lake and you can witness the landscape of the shoreline you should notice indentations in the lake bottom which will in fact hold this warmer water and attract more walleye.
Using fish finding technology will help to find these indentations in the lake bottom and should produce noticeable fishing results.
Bring a thermomoter and test the water temperature near the bottom of the lake bed. A good fisherman always brings his fish finding tools to find those lunker walleye.
