Walleye Leeches All Balled-Up
There are many different ways to lure in a good walleye but one that holds true in alot of different Northern Ontario lakes is using the elusive leech as bait.
In early season when your using leeches, you might find your leeches will ball-up since water temperatures are always much colder this time of year. Even in the summer you’ll find this may happen and you’ll be frustrated because walley don’t like balled up leeches much.
Enter into the equation – small sized surgical tubing. Attach it to the hook then add your leech and watch how the leech attaches itself to the tubing rather than the hook, eliminating the balling-up of the leech. This creates the illusion that the leach is naturally swimming and walley will more likely strike.
